Simon and Halbig--1870--1925+...Simon and Halbig specialized in the manufacture of porcelain heads. These heads were used by many companies such as Handwerck and Kammer and Reinhardt. The popular character dolls of Kammer and Reinhardt were produced by Simon and Halbig and both names appear on the backs of the heads.

Kammer and Reinhardt--1886-1925+...In 1895 Kammer and Reinhardt began using the K*R trademark to identify their dolls. They are most noted for character dolls that were often modeled after children and were named for them. K*R114 Hans/Gretchen is an example of these. Mein Leibling is another well known trademark doll of Kammer and Reinhardt that today we have come to associate with the K*RQ117.

Armand Marseille--1865-1925+... Marseille established a factory in Koppelsdorf after leaving Russia. A prolific doll maker, Marseille also manufactured doll parts for many other companies. Many heads were produced over a long period of time.

Heinrich Handwerck--1876-1902...Handwerck worked closely with Kammer and Reinhardt and apparently was taken over by them when Handwerck died in 1902. Many of these dolls had heads similar to those produced by Simon and Halbig.

GerbruderHeubach--1862-1925+... Heubach is known for the wonderful artistry of his character heads. These heads display many moods ranging from the pouty to the whimsical. While Heubach used set in eyes, many of the dolls had painted eyes that made use of a concave pupil and iris, called an intaglio eye.
