small pansy SIMON & HALBIG was a porcelain factory that produced quality doll heads. These heads were bought by other doll manufacturers and in fact, some were used by French doll manufacturers. They produced a wide variety of styles from a pretty dolly-face to a stunning lady fashion doll. An example of an Simon & Halbig "dolly-face" is the S & H 1249/Santa, circa 1910. Some day I hope to have an example of the very exquisite painted-eye character dolls. Santa

small pansy Kammer & Reinhardt
..Simon & Halbig made heads for Kammer & Reinhardt . In 1909, Kammer & Reinhardt offered the first doll in their character series. They were, at first, hesitant to produce the realistic looking heads but the K*R100, a happy, smiling baby was very successful. Kammer & Reinhardt went on to produce several more in that series ranging from infants to toddlers, to young boys and girls. Many of their beautiful painted eye dolls closely resemble the Simon & Halbig dolls.

Happy
K*R116 "Happy" usually appeared on a bent-leg baby body, and on occasion, on a toddler body. Either a boy or a girl, the 116 had sleep eyes, an open/closed mouth, and two teeth. There was an open mouthed version with a wobble tongue. There was also a domed head version.
K*R117 Mein Liebling
Mein Liebling
K*R117 "Mein Liebling is a great favorite of the Kammer & Reinhardt Character Dolls. She is somewhat older looking than the K*R114 and the K*R116 which is a baby. K*R117 Mein Liebling
